Tattoo Aftercare

A great tattoo deserves proper care to ensure it heals smoothly and stays vibrant for years to come. After getting a tattoo your skin needs time to recover and following the right aftercare routine is crucial to preventing fading, infection, or irritation.

As a professional tattoo artist in Orangeville, Tyson Ward provides detailed aftercare instructions to help clients protect their new ink and maintain long-lasting results. Whether you’ve received a big, small, black & grey or colour design, these aftercare steps will ensure your tattoo heals properly.

DO:

DO leave bandage on overnight and remove in the morning.

DO wash immediately after removing bandage with mild soap and warm water.

DO quickly pat dry with a clean towel after every shower.

DO start, on the fourth day, sparingly applying an unscented, water-based lotion a couple times daily. (eg. unscented Lubriderm)

DON’T:

DON’T ever re-bandage the tattoo. It needs to breathe.

DON’T pick, scratch or cause scab to come off prematurely.

DON’T soak in water until all the scabs have gone.

DON’T use Polysporin, vaseline, aloe vera, vitamin E or anything else besides unscented, water-based lotion.

DON’T touch or let others touch with unwashed hands.
